"Show Us Your Life" at Kelly's Korner

I thought I'd try something a little different, so I'm taking part in this week's Show Us Your Life blog event over at Kelly's Korner in order to spread the word about Creekside Creations! :) For those who are unfamiliar, Kelly's Korner is a blog that I love following along with, but have always been to "chicken" to link my own family blog too. She does SUYL on most Fridays and lots of times it's to showcase your decorating skills in your home, but there are other really neat things as well. Plus, she has the most adorable little girl and another one on the way! :) This week she is allowing folks to link up their etsy shops and websites to show off what they make. So, with that out of the way, let me tell you a little bit about us...

First, if you're new to our blog, let me give you a big ole Kentucky "Welcome"!! :) Creekside Creations is a little venture that was started by my momma and myself less than a year ago. Daddy gave her an embroidery machine for Christmas, and we have been busy making our "creations" ever since. I am a stay-at-home Mom of two sweet boys, one of which has fairly severe special needs. As you may imagine, it has made working outside of the home a bit challenging, and after trying that for several months, my husband and I decided that it just wasn't best for our little family at all. Mom is a retired hairdresser, and is a wonderful seamstress. So, combining our love of creating new things, her sewing ability, an embroidery machine, and my love of blogging, Creekside Creations was born. We are just learning as we go along, and are enjoying our time together as well. We run a pretty simple operation, and ordering from us is as simple as sending an email. At this time, we do not accept PayPal or credit cards; mostly because I haven't figured out how to do all of that yet. We sell mainly locally, but we have shipped items as well. In order to have an item shipped, we just ask that you send us a check or money order after placing the order through email, and once payment is received, your order will be fixed up and shipped to you. Now for the tricky part...today is actually the last day that we are able to accept orders for most of our items before the new year. We want to ensure that everyone gets their holiday items and gift orders in a timely fashion, but we also want to enjoy the holidays with our family without the added stress of working non-stop. My boys will only be little one time, and being Mom comes first right now. :) If time allows, we will continue to take orders for hairbows and Christmas shirts for another week or so....I will know more about that after today.

Now for the important stuff...What do we make? Embroidered and appliqued children's clothing, including pillowcase, a-line and peasant dresses, ruffle pants, jon-jons, custom shirts for holidays/birthdays, baby items such as bibs, burpcloths, tag blankies, pacifier clips, and diaper bags, hairbows and MORE. You can feel free to look through our older posts here, click on any of the labels in the side column, OR click on our facebook badge on the left hand side of the page and look through our photo albums there to see all of our different items. Feel free to become a follower of this blog, or better yet, a fan on facebook!! We hope you see some things you like and we would love to make a "Creekside Creation" for you! :) Thanks so much for stopping by to visit!
